Join us in celebrating Women's History Month and Arizona Cultural Leadership with this month-long exhibition. Featured artists Saskia Jorda, Estephania Gonzáles, and Anh-Thuy Nguyen are among the five women artists nominated by the Arizona Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts to participate in the 'Women to Watch' opening in Washington D.C. in April. 2024. Phoenix-based artist Saskia Jorda will represent Arizona in the D.C. exhibition featuring selected artists from around the world.

The National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) is the first museum in the world solely dedicated to championing women through the arts. With its collections, exhibitions, programs, and online content, the museum inspires dynamic exchanges about art and ideas. NMWA advocates for better representation of women artists and serves as a vital center for thought leadership, community engagement, and social change. NMWA addresses the gender imbalance in the presentation of art by bringing to light important women artists of the past while promoting great women artists working today.

Saskia Jorda is an interdisciplinary artist working on site-specific installations, soft sculptures, and drawings. Her work references the relationship between body and space, cultural identity, and mapping a sense of place. Estephania González uses video, animation, installation, and performance to explore concepts of spacetime, cosmologies, and identity. Anh-Thuy Nguyen's primary artistic source is an exploration into her history and experiences as an immigrant. She investigates her cultural and personal identity as well as her migration story through photography, video, installation, and performance art.

We're excited to debut this unique exhibition with exhibiting architects, landscape architects, and designers. Form. Space. Vision. features installations, drawings, and architectural models that envision forward-looking, human-scale environments and landscape design.

Craig Hodgetts and Hsinming Fung of H Plus F Design in Los Angeles, California, are well known for their impeccable redesign of the Hollywood Bowl. Hodgetts and Fung convey a sense of discovery and wonder. With their project called The State of Ecotopia, originally presented in 1999, H + F examines themes of adaptability and change through the lens of science fiction.

Doug Sydnor highlights his collaboration with Vito Acconci on Scottsdale’s Loloma Transit Center and illustrates the collision between art and architecture through the collaborative process. Doug Sydnor shares behind-the-scenes insights into the efforts across disciplines to take an idea from vision to reality.

The Green Room Landscape Architecture is located in Phoenix. With a focus on rewilding and indigenous materials, Charlie Ray, ASLA Principal, and Matt Thomas, PLA, ASLA, bring the outside into the gallery, embedding architectural drawings among a collection of cholla ribs found on desert research trips and site visits.

The School of Architecture is located in Scottsdale. The students and faculty at TSOA embrace the visual language of drawing and collage and engage contemporary and conceptual design practices to imagine the future of landscape and human-scale environments.

Form. Space. Vision. is a curated exhibition and speaker series that acknowledges contemporary art practices as catalysts for civil discourse and conduits to innovation. The exhibition brings together the public and private sectors to examine our global climate future through the lens of the artist.
